Hi Scotty and friends, Toyota Camry 2020 LE, ~58500 miles, was going down the highway and a truck 2 lanes over shot my windshield with a rock, gave me a small but noticeable crack (see pics). Saw some YouTube videos, including one by Scotty, on windshield repair so thought I’d give it a shot before it got worse.
Bought some permatex and while i was applying the tube to the sticker on the windshield, i press ever so slightly too hard and a 6-8 inch line formed in the window (see pic of when I applied the film). Anyways, after finishing following the steps and waiting, i have what’s in the final pic.
is there anything i can do about this? It looks like the resin partially filled some of the line as it originally went all the way to main crack. Should I apply 1-2 more of these permatex pads (more gently this time) or is it just a lost cause at this point? Thanks.

Replace it now before it gets worse, and it will.
I don't know if there is much you can do from a DIY POV. At the same time, it might be too small for a replacement. If it gets any bigger, it might be time to call the insurance company and get it replaced.
It's probably just going to keep spreading
windshield replacement is inevitable at this point.
If you want to stretch it out, look up your state laws on what cracks are allowable, but I think this one will be obstructing your view pretty quickly.
I've learned to hard way to stay well away from trucks on the freeway
