Hi! Scottie, I am a big fan! My Toyota Tacoma PreRunner has been having a returning Trouble code no matter what I do it comes back again and again?

Replaced all four spark plus, Coil packs, main computer and it was using alot of gas so rich that you could smell the gas inside the cab?  I replaced the computer with the old computer and it ran nice for about 1 week then the 03001 misfire code came back again? it was tending to misfire at the starting with the second computer now that I have the old computer in it misfires sometimes.  I wish it had an old distributer but no it uses this sucking computer, I replaced just about everything once trying to fixit but the same misfire code comes back again? I know when I go and fill it up to the top the truck struggles to stay running until the gas get below a centain level. Then it works find?  {black}

Always diagnose first, replace second.

Looks like you need your EVAP system looked at, too.

It could be something very basic. EVAP problems can be caused by a bad gas cap. (The O-Ring that seals the tank becomes compromised by age or damage). Replace the cap with an OEM.

It's so cheap to do, I'd start there.

I'm not a mechanic, but I sense that there is something significant in your last comment. I THINK it is important that the car doesn't misfire when the tank is less full but does missfire when it is more full. If that is the case, one of these brilliant mechanics who loves to diagnose issues in complex situations is about to tell you what he would do next. If I were a mechanic, that clue would mean something to me. Alas, I'm just a curious guy who suspects the fuel pump has something to do with it.
