I am imagining what would've been happened, if Honda took over Fiat company instead of Fiat buying Chrysler? Would Fiat cars have Honda technology and not to be pile of junk cars then lasted 500,000 miles or more? And what could've happened to new Fiat 500 if they put Honda technology like I-VTEC engine into it?
what would happen if hell froze over?
Well really no point in speculation. It wouldn't have happened for a myriad of reasons. But in such case, that is an over estimation of Honda as a company. I think one thing to keep in mind is that there is always exceptions to the rule. And 500k miles is certainly achievable in cars with all stock internals. But they must be taken care of and while Hondas and Toyotas and such can be easier to reach such numbers, I've also seen for example a Benz with all stock with over 450k at my old shop. My friend had a foxbody mustang with 330k, and a gmc suburban with all their flaws have over 260k miles. 500k has been shown but the exception on this bell curve is far from the rule.
The only way to find out would be to discover a way to cross the Einstein-Rosen Bridge into an alternate universe where that happened. Maybe you could also find out what would have happened if Elvis was still alive.
In this universe I doubt that Honda management would have had the poor judgement to get mixed up with that cesspool.

If Honda had purchased Fiat, Soichiro Honda would be rolling over in his grave.
