But you can answer a lot of your own questions just by using the internet. Start with websites like the one Chuck has suggested. You can also use our search box near the top of the page. There's a almost 100% chance that somebody has asked about that car before.

Wikipedia is also a great resource. It usually tells you the entire history of a car, and which engines + transmissions were used. You can then web search those engine models to get information and common problems about them. For example "2gr-fks engine review" etc.
