Hey Scotty, when I open the gas cap of my truck, even if it hasn't ran in a few weeks, gas comes flying out! It happened the other day... I had to change cloths, never seen that before. What could cause this? Old yard truck used for plowing. 1976 / GMC / Jimmy / Auto / Carbureted / 46,000km. --CANADA

With pressure building in the fuel tank it sounds like you have a problem with your tank venting setup. I think in 1976 you'd have a crude (by today's standards) evap system with a charcoal canister under the hood. Time to check all those 47-year old hoses and other components.
Another possibility would be your gas cap. If it's supposed to be a vented cap it may be plugged up and permitting pressure to build in the tank.
