Okay, 2010 CRV 160,000 miles. Tires wear even, no fluid leaks around struts but car seems to ride hard. Is it basically time that 10 year old/160,000 mile struts are shot? When should they be repaced?
If you are observing that your CRV, after all those miles, now "ride hard", I suspect it is not because your struts are worn out! Worn out struts make a ride soft, bouncy, … telegraphs directionally loose steering feel.
It’s most likely something else, … like other parts of suspension need attention. Check for that first, …
F.S.
when they start to bother you, or affect your handling.
I changed my struts prematurely, on the recommendation of the stealership. I took it to an indy shop to get done.
I really didn't notice any problems, but I wasn't as knowledgable about cars then. I recommend only doing it if it really needs to be done, why waste the money?
Thanks Guys!
