so im gonna have an oil change done today (before ya judge me, i dont have the equipment or space to do it myself) basically the plan is to put in the oil treatment and idle the car for 15 to 20 minutes, and then hand the keys off to the mechanic.
what im wondering is when they put the car into drive to bring the car into the shop, is that bad? is driving the car that little bit with the treatment in there going to damage anything?
You should give the additive to the mechanic.

what does it mean to set your car to high idle?
Just another way of saying keep the rpms higher than normal but not too much higher (2000 rpm is fine)
I’m no mechanic but I recently used this oil treatment before changing my own oil (BTW at least you’re getting your oil changed so that’s a good thing) and before changing it I just drove around and actually made a trip to the local auto parts store to get some oil pan bolt gaskets. I just made sure the RPMs stayed generally above 2K so I shifted to 3rd while going down the road at about 40mph.
one more question to make myself look even more dumb. what does it mean to set your car to high idle? ive just been sitting here with it in park with my foot on the pedal keeping it around 2 thousand rpm's but i feel 2 things, 1st that this cant be good for the car, and second that i feel like a bloody idiot

You're stuck between a rock and a hard place, I guess. If you have the room, get a set of Rhino ramps and do it yourself. All it takes is a socket that fits the oil drain plug in your car, a 3/8" ratchet, and another oil filter. Use the oil specified in your owner's manual. Simple enough.
Unless your car is getting up there in mileage, or you've been a naughty boy and slacked off on maintenance or something, your car is most likely fine. You didn't mention anything at all regarding said car. It's not meant to be a routine maintenance thing.
