How do I find out where/what country my 2005 Toyota Corolla LE, 1.6L, Automatic was made?

What is the 1st character in your vin #?? J=Japan, 1=US, 2=Canada, 3=Mexico.

The sticker on the door jamb should say "Made in XXXXX"
Doesn’t indicate that.
is it the right sticker? Can you post a picture?

you can find where the car was manufactured and much more using the above vin decoder from nhtsa.
Tried it but tells me the ninth character is incorrect but it’s not.
I've always used this link and it always works for any car I've tried from 40 year old Mercedes to brand new Civic. So double check the vin (and also try by adding the model year in the box under where you put the vin).
