I have a 2012 Toyota Corolla automatic transmission. I’ve had 4 transmissions. First was rebuilt and the next 3 were used.
the current transmission is shifting hard from park to reverse. I wanted to know what the best additive is for this? I’ve looked at Lucus, hot shots shift restore, liquimoly. The reviews look mixed. So I want to see l what a mechanic of 53 years would say. Also is my transmission going out?

Are you parking on slopes and not using the parking brake? Doing so can cause the parking pawl to bind up and roughly disengage from the output shaft when you change gears.
Check your fluid level.

There are no miracles in bottles. A drivetrain specialist needs to diagnose and repair this kind of problem.
