Howdy Scotty,
If you’ve spent any amount of time in Texas you know that part of the way of life here is, either owning OR knowing someone who owns a pickup. I myself own a 2002 f-150 4.6 XLT 4x4. I am confident when I tell you that my 1/2 ton truck has seen more work than most 1 ton highway princesses out there. That said there is only so much I can accomplish with my old gasser. My question for you is what diesel 1 ton would you buy and why? A lot of what I know conflicts with my financial decisions. If I buy a duramax I will get the Allison transmission but my fuel mileage won’t be good. If I buy a new 6.7 powerstroke I take a gamble on an engine that hasn’t been around as long as the Cummins or the duramax but has a performance that is better than the duramax but not as good of torq as the Cummins. If I buy the Cummins I get an engine that eats transmissions. OR do I buy a first gen 12 valve or 24 valve or the 7.3 powerstroke? And obviously different features of the different trucks play into effect. Like comfortability, accessories, tow capability, flat bed, dually, 4x4, what size cab, historical issues like Fords front end issues, dodges fuel issues, and gms lesser fuel performance. I just saw your video on YouTube about this new forumn where you said we could talk about what trucks to buy so here it is. What do you think?
I would go forward just because they've been making trucks forever I like the Cummings Diesel but I don't like ram products
Get the Ford for the overall better product.
For diesel trucks, Ford is the way to go.
