Scotty,

Thank you for taking the time to educate us about modern cars.

We are considering taking your recommendation and purchase a used ES350. It seems that the 2006-2009 are reasonably priced, but we will

spend a little extra to get the model you suggest.

Are there years that you would say are better? Worse? Some to stay away from at all costs? We have even heard of dashes melting! Being in the Phoenix area, we don't need that!

Thank you again,

Well I would say anyone is bad but personally I'm not a fan of all wheel drive vehicles I would just get regular two-wheel drive

Unfortunately, those years you mention for the ES350 were subject to cracked, sticky, and/or melting dashboards further exacerbated by heat and humidity, and you live in Phoenix so it’s a definite concern.  There was a class action lawsuit later and while it listed ES350s up to 2008 model year, in reality the issue was still there on later models (including 2011).  I am wondering if a dashboard cover would go a long way in preventing/mitigating this issue.
