Hello everyone, I am curious if these Lexus ES 300's are worth to get. One is a 2003 from one private seller and the other is a 1997 from another seller that does not live close to the other. I am curious as to which is a better buy since both of these cars have been maintained really well from the exterior, to the interior, and even mechanically with routine maintenance. Both of these cars do not have rust on the frame or codes. I'm going to try to get them checked by a trusted mechanic to see if there is anything with them because the 1997 has only 36k miles and the 2003 has only 38k miles (yes a 5 digit odometer) and both of them are going about the same price as the other.
With that being said, both vehicles are almost identical in the amount of care the owners gave to them (both one owner vehicles).
My question to you is are these Lexus ES 300's worth it and if so which one is the better option in terms of the long term? Is there any problem that can pop up later since these are 18+ year old cars? Any common problems to expect from the 1997 or 2003 ES?
All I want to know is which is the better option. Thank you.
If odos weren't manipulated, the cars have been sitting most of their times.

Guaranteed you can add at least 100,000 to the mileage showing. The mechanic who checks them out should do a deep scan for codes and a compression test at the very least. Have you seen copies of the invoices for the routine maintenance?
