Hi
i have a question about oil grade to use in my old car.
its a 96 honda accord with 233k on it.
the recommended oil for my car is 5w30 but my mechanic and part store is telling me to put 15w40 in it since it has high mileage. And i am now really confused.
can anyone please advice me whether i should use the manufacturer manual or my mechanic?

Stick to the recommended oil viscosity from the manufacturer.

Use the 5w30 and add half a quart of Lucas Oil Treatment at each oil change.
