I would never waste my money on these overpriced, so called premium oils.  As long as it has the correct rating and weight, I'll stick with Castol or Valvoline or whatever.

Both are good. The more important thing is to change the oil and filter religiously and use quality filter.

What brand is a good oil filter to use....???

As long as both meet the manufacturer specifications called out in the owner’s manual, then it doesn’t matter.  Don’t buy into any hype:  get whichever is cheaper.  Either way, you still need to change the engine oil and filter every 5,000 miles or once a year whichever comes first.

I usually just get the cheapest name brand oil that meets the requirements for my car.

Royal Purple is a better oil, but you can't go wrong with any of those.  They are both very good oils.

Royal Purple is a much better oil. But it is an overkill oil. On oil tests it gives excelent protection. But is overpriced and for normal driving it is a waste of money. Normal oil gives you 100% protection you need. Particles in oil and Rpms and hard acceleration destroys engines.
