Which oil weight do I use?

Hello. I love your videos on YouTube. I remember one video you did, on the importance of using the right weight oil. But I have a little bit of a dilemma. I have a 2011 Toyota, Scion TC. On the oil filler cap, it says to use 0W-20. But in the owners manual, it says to use 5W-20. I figured the cap may have came from another car (I don't know). So I've been using 5W-20 every time I change the oil. To make matters worse, I've been on several sites online, concerning the Scion TC. Some sites say, use 0W-20, others say 5W-20. Is 5W-20 the correct one to use?

Always follow the manual.

Though you aren't talking enough difference in this case to cause an issue, it is still best to go by what the book says.

If your owner's manual says 5w20, use 5w20. I would not trust what the cap or other people say.

Either one is fine.  0W would be better if you live in the Yukon.
