Hi,
I recently purchased a Mazda Miata 2006 with 26,000 km (15,000 miles). The car makes a whirring/whining noise at speeds above 60 km/h (40 mph). Sound disappears if I let off the gas. The car is MT and I have noticed the sound is more prominent in 6th gear but is still there in 5th gear. Muting the stereo and trying with it and without the soft top makes no difference. At speeds lower than 60 the sound is simply not there at all. Car is running a new set of tires installed by the dealership I bought the car from.

That could be a great many things. Please post a Youtube video with the sound.
