My girlfriend has a 2008 rabbit and the AC doesn't blow very cold so I took it to a AC repair shop.
the mechanic hooked up the gauges and the Freon levels were within acceptable ranges. he then showed me that the blue dial low pressure went up under accelerating but went down while idling. the unit does blow cold air during idle.
his recommendation was to replace the AC compressor.
I was wondering if there's anything else that could be causing this since replacing the compressor is half the value of the car.
