Hi scotty im a huge fan of your channel and i have been for a year pr so now, but im having a bit of a problem, I recently got a 2017 hyundai elantra se(automatic transmission)used for 4000, it has 137000 miles on it and has been serviced regularly and runs like a dream, but the engine has been randomly shutting off when i am either going low speeds or when i am facing a downhill position on the road, i have also noticed sometimes it wont even start when i turn the key, other then that the car is fine but i was wondering if maybe you know whats going on with it, Thanks continue the good work!
If the engine sometimes doesn't crank over it could be an intermittent problem with the starter. Sometimes whacking the solenoid with a convenient pole or other suitable object will get it to temporarily work. Another possibility would be a defect in the ignition switch.
Start with cleaning the injectors. You may have leaky ones that cause the engine flooding.
Okay so i can clean the fuel injectors but idk if this means anything different but I forgot to mention that when it doesn’t start at all, which hasn’t happened at all in a while but when it does it doesnt crank at all, its like i just have the key in the on position but really its in start, but nothing seems to happen, the lights and the interior electronics turn on but thats it, i had the battery and alternator tested even though that’s probably not whats doing it and my battery was healthy so i dont know really
Also pressure test your fuel pump. Though it’s odd for it to fail after just 4yrs..
