Hi i have a 2013 lexus gs 350 with 52k miles on it one day i woke up drove car and steering wheel felt stiffer than usual took it in for alignment didnt fix the problem "lexus professionals" told me I need new tires but I had same tires and steering was fine it only happend after I had it towed on a flat bed please help!
What do you mean by "stiffer"? The steering feels heavier (harder to turn)? Do you having electronic power steering or hydraulic?
Electric and what I mean is before if felt like classic lexus floaty steering and now yes it is harder to turn
I have a sensor for the electric steering but light hasn't come on
Have you checked the tire pressure by any chance? Low tire pressure can cause stiffer steering. It could potentially be the motor that's going out or the servotronic system that's acting up (steering assistance based on vehicle speed). But check the tire pressure first.
Car at its lowest tire pressure 29 psi all round drove better than after with 33psi I think you may be on to something with the servotronic system is there a way to test that
Check your power steering fluid reservoir and make sure it is filled to the appropriate mark. Sounds like it could be low.
No power steering fluid in this car
if you have done the obvious and checked fluid and tyre pressure it may be track rod ends are seized and old
No fluid in this car and tires are irrelevant cus it drove better before regardless of the tire pressure. Now the track rod ends are we sure that's in the 2013 gs 350 if so how would I check
