Hey Scotty!
What could be the cause of this "bump steer" (I think that's what it's called from researching online) on my 2008 Corolla with 176k miles?
It happens everytime I go over bumps, and I'm also having tons of steering wheel play at higher speeds (60mph+), it almost feels dangerous to drive.
I've checked my suspension and everything seems to be working well with no play or clunks at 12' and 6' o clock, and 9' and 3' o clock. I also bought 4 new tires recently and had them checked the balance 2 times since I thought it was the balance at first.
I also recently replaced the control arms since the bushings were shot and play.

I recorded a video spinning the rear tires just to see if you can see if they're defective:

It looks like a normal tire. You can't diagnose tires problems by looking at them. This is done with tools , like a tire balancer and alignment equipment.

You might want to have a real mechanic check your car out . There could be many other causes for the symptoms you describe, and a discount tire shop may not be equipped to help you.
your video looks normal. Almost all steering wheels are going to jerk when going over bumps.
I'm also having tons of steering wheel play at higher speeds (60mph+), it almost feels dangerous to drive.
This is the more worrisome problem. You should take it to a steering & alignment shop.
@imperator I actually just figured it out, it might be the tires since I just got a set of 4 replaced last month (I made a new thread)
Hey Scotty! So I recently bought a set of 4 Kumho Solus TA31 All-Season tires from the Walmart website for my 2008 Corolla last month and had them installed at my local Discount Tire shop.
Ever since I've had them installed, I've had to return about 3 times to the tire shop just in the past month to have the Road Force balance checked out because I've been having tire pulls, and vibrations at the steering wheel and throughout the whole car at 60-75mph ever since I got them.
They haven't informed me that the tires might be defective, but I suspect they are, because I switched the tires multiple times to see if the vibrations disappeared, and they mostly did, by switching the rears to the front.
I suspect the rear tires are defective because now I'm getting vibrations all throughout the car, but not at the steering wheel anymore. I recorded a video spinning the rear tires just to see if you can see if they're defective:

I made a new thread
Don't. Keep all your related material together in one post per the rules please. Topics merged.
@imperator My apologies, I didn't know, thanks for merging!
