I have a 2007 ford freestyle sel with 181,000 miles. It's throwing a po701 code and will hardly move forward. It won't climb the slight incline in my driveway. Is it as easy as cleaning the throttle body? What other things could it be?
It's an automatic transmission and when it put it in drive and let go of the brake it just rolls backwards down the driveway. It's also 10 degrees here in MN
Chances are the transmission is shot - that model is notorious for transmission problems. However if you're lucky it might be just an electrical problem. Have it checked out by a transmission expert as @kp suggested.

You have a problem within the Transmission Control Module (TCM). Take the vehicle to a transmission specialist and then go from there.

Also, when did you change the transmission fluid and filter? Was it recently or never changed at all?
Ah, the ‘beloved’ ford “TRANSMISSION PERFORMANCE LOW”.
Your transmission, a German, chain driven, CVT (ZF CF30) - has broken down. DO NOT DRIVE.

consider going to a local transmission expert who has experience with ZF CVTs.
If it’s not a something that can be cheaply resolved - like getting a used TCM, I wouldn’t put too much money into it.
