Won't run cold

Hi Scotty, I have a 2003 Honda Pilot, automatic transmission. It’s got 252,000 miles on it , it drives great, transmission feels good, starts up every time . The only problem is that I can’t do a cold start , put it in gear and just take off. It has to warm up at least a quarter of the way before I can drive it. If I let it warm less than that , I throw it in gear and it turns off every time . also when it’s park either uphill or downhill even for just a few minutes it has a really hard time starting up again. Do you think it’s a fuel pump problem? Thanks

Could be partly clogged injectors that are not delivering the increased fuel flow needed when the engine is cold. (Some fuel injection systems have a separate cold start valve as well.) Though it's not a bad idea to make sure your fuel filter is recent and pressure up to specification.

Did you do a battery test? Might be a good place to start.
