Hello everyone!
I have a 2011 ford f-150 last night I replaced the battery for a brand new one, went to the store and came home and everything was fine, this morning I couldn't start the truck it shows power like all the lights come on but it doesn't crank up
@abrahamavelar
Does it try to crank? Or it doesn't crank at all?
Doesn't crank
When you say it doesn’t crank, does the starter crank atleast? Or is it just dead silence when you turn the key?
If the starter cranks but the engine won’t start, Watch Scotty’s video on how to fix a car that cranks but won’t start.
Is the new battery the same or higher CCA as your previous one/manufacturer specification?
Do your headlights turn on?
Load test the battery & alternator first and take it from there.
@inthrustwetrust the lights come on everything turns on but when I turn the key it's dead silent
Assuming the starter clicks but will not crank the engine, check the battery voltage. If low, you may have a battery drain. If not low, you may have a bad starter, or a shifter that isn't fully in park, if auto trans. Try putting the shifter in neutral and see if it will crank.
Also check the area around the battery to make sure you didn't accidentally knock a wire off or not plug a connector back in.
@bc-st
See I bought the battery at Costco put it back in in costco's parking lot and still went about my business for a few hours few more stores and everything was fine till the next morning, won't let me put it in neutral but I'll try again
Check fuses and starter relay
Sometimes a smack on the starter with a hammer will get it going again.
