Got a 2013 Malibu that I hope to trade in in about a year but wondering if the passenger vinyl seat “flaking” off in a small area is worth replacing before I do trade in. Will it make a difference? I tried to post a pic but a no go.

For trade in value, it won't do much of anything, if you were selling to another person then yeah. But spending a hundred to only get back $50 if nothing at all is not worth. People in the trade INS do care about cosmetics, but as long as the car is cleanish and they care more about outside damage rather than inside from what I understand. If it's not really horrible to a first glance then you are fine.
I would replace it. $100 is not much but to make your car look better.
Check around a few local salvage yards. My favorite local one sells seats for $30-$40. Maybe more than one model has the same seat.
Find a local to you car upholstery shop and see what they can do for ya
