Hi Scotty what is your opinion on the 2010 xc90 with the 3.2 inline six? My parents have one with over 90,000 miles and it runs smoothly. Thanks.

That car was designed before the Geely takeover and was decently reliable compared to other Euro SUVs like the X5 and GL-Class, but still would cost a lot in repairs and maintenace after 100-150k miles.
Take care of it and it might last, but don't forget its still a European SUV and odds are all the electronic gimmicks are on their way out by now.
When it comes to common problems, you are lucky in two regards:
The AISIN transmission was relatively reliable in those later years of the generation, and the 3.2 wasn't turbocharged so you don't have to deal with those two things that would bankrupt you instantly.
Good luck!

I own a Volvo and I am a fan of their cars.
The old XC90 is great, the new XC90 is not.
the old XC90 (2005-2014) was build very well and it can last a very long time if you take care of it. Volvo cars were used to be built to last 20 years or 200,000 miles.
But the newer XC90s are a nightmare, never buy a new Volvo. I’m really hoping that their transition to electric will improve their reliablity.
I remember when we were looking at them...the first year for that generation (2005) did have some transmission problems once they got over 100k miles, but pretty sure they got that ironed out by 2010. Solid built back then...now that they're owned by Chinese firm, eh....not so much.
