What are your thoughts on buying a used rental car and buying a used car from a dealership? I’m trying to decide whether to go with Rental car dealership or a traditional car dealership that I used to work at.

Previous threads here have documented the pitfalls in buying a used rental. The only advantage is that they tend to be basic models with few unnecessary accessories that can fail.
Maybe there is such a glut of them coming on the market you can find a deal. But I would only buy a rental if I was desperate and that’s all I could afford.

I would never buy a used vehicle (or a new one) from a rental place or a dealership. I deal with private party only.
