| Good for Geely they are open to DIY. I wish tesla and others would do that. Anyways, I am committed to ICE (mainly Toyota) for the next 20+ years. At that point, if I am still alive, we will see which vehicle I get next. Who knows what cars will be like then..As for my computer and phone being in China, that is true but then again they are disposable. They usually don’t last more than 5 years for me..I have yet to see a Chinese product that will last a long time..Plus, supporting China by buying their products is only strengthening the Chinese Communist Part ... | |||||

| don't forget the enviro damage of mining and refining the minerals+chemicals that go into the batteries. I really don't think people really care about emissions as much as they say they do. At least, not enough to look into it thoroughly and honestly. It's got the tesla badge on it and that's that. They're heroes. Planet saved. Now they can look at you smugly out of the window of their death trap. | |||||

| If your dad is ready to spend that much $$$ on a tesla, why not steer him to a gently used Lexus LS? If he has an environmental conservation itch to scratch, they also make hybrid versions. | |||||

| It’s 5 years old - in about 3 years the battery warranty will run out and who knows how much more it’ll last? If you want a toy for 3 years, eh why not they’re interesting cars - but definitely do not keep after battery warranty ends. As nice as EVs are, longevity is still an issue - so just I wouldn’t buy one USED. Out of warranty it’s scary. I’d recommend buying something else instead like a used luxury car or maybe a brand new Corolla (for how much teslas go for) and enjoy it while tesla battery reliability becomes clear. | |||||

| ... internals, but the fit and finish of a tesla is horrible. Horrible. You could be potentially in and out of the shop just to fix the fit and finish, not the mechanical. And the ID4 may have the best fit and finish and a decent EV drive train. It’s so new, it’s hard to tell the reliability. With that said, it is probably a mass produced platform to watch moving forward. | |||||

| I would sell that Avalon. That engine is not the best engine from Toyota. I would buy anything else but a tesla. | |||||

| It's actually more likely, and the fire is much more difficult to put out. Based on the number that are on the road, teslas are much more prone to catching fire than gasoline powered cars. Those batteries pack a lot of electrical energy and when something goes wrong and it's released the result is catastrophic. They are also overpriced, poor build quality, and less practical than the cheapest gasoline powered vehicle. If he plans to keep a car for a long time the batteries will be a problem down the road, and repairs cost a fortune because tesla doesn't ... | |||||

| I would tell her to keep driving that Sentra and if she rlly wants an EV, I would look into leasing a VW ID4, Audi E-tron, Nissan Leaf, or Ford Mustang Mach-E. I would not get a tesla if I were her. | |||||

| What is the highest mileage that you have seen on any tesla? My friend wants to buy one because she wants to go all electric. She currently drive a 2018 Nissan Sentra zero issues. | |||||
