| I'm taking Scotty's advice and going to trade in my 2012 Toyota Prius (made in Japan) with 189k miles to Carvana. Would the 2018 Buick Encore Preferred with 25k miles for $15k be a good deal? I'm looking for a small suv that's comfortable driving for long periods to do Uber. The Toyota suv's are all over $20k. | |||||

| See video below by Master Mechanic and shop owner The Car Wizard: you do not want to own the Buick Encore long term, esp. out of warranty. Right now is also a crazy time to get a vehicle, especially a CUV/SUV or truck. Of those you mention I would only consider the Tacoma but those are hard to get esp. at MSRP. Does it have to be a pickup truck? | |||||

| If you trade it, the Tacoma would be my vote. The Encore's were the cheapest, smallest SUV Buick offered and there were many issues with them. It sounds to me like there is a loose connection in the dash going to the cluster. Fixing it would mean pulling the cluster. The dealership is wrong: the cluster going out is not normal. | |||||

| Hey Scotty, I have a 2014 Buick Encore and I have a check engine light that hasn’t went away. It’s for P0441. I have done research and it points to O2 sensors or catalytic converter. It’s not running bad or anything but I can’t pass emissions in Sumner county TN with the check engine light on. I have replaced the downstream O2 sensor before and the light came back a week later. How much would you charge to look at it? I’m from Clarksville and happy to bring it to you. I don’t want to drop another 70 bucks on a sensor and it not fix the problem. Thank you, | |||||
| 2014 Buick Encore possible alternator or battery issue | 35Relevance | 4 years ago | jmdunn095 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hello Scotty and Friends! I have a 2014 Buick Encore that is on its second battery. It didn't start this morning and wouldn't start when I put a battery charger on it and had it set to 50A start. I let it charge on 10A for about 4 minutes and it started after a lot of cranking. When it wouldn't start, there was a disturbing click coming from around the alternator. Could it have an alternator issue? It was not too serious though and just was barley noticeable. After it started, I ran it on a test drive for about 5 minutes making sure to rev it up a bit on th ... | |||||

| ... gas mileage, better features, and better overall reliability. Recently a blue 2018 Buick Encore was listed for $14,500 by a private seller with just under 50,000 miles, leather seats, moonroof, etc. Apparently there has been battery issues, so the owner is having that replaced. The vehicle is also front wheel drive and I am not for sure if this would be a wise option for an SUV. What do you think of this type of car and what type of value would you place on it? If not this SUV, what would you recommend? | |||||

| Hey Scotty, I drive a 2013 Buick Encore. I have noticed a jerking sensation with my car at low speeds, around 15-20 mph. I notice it when the car is not really warmed up. No check engine lights. I have not had it scanned. The car as 81,000 miles on it. What could it possibly be? thanks, Jason | |||||

| The 2017 Buick Encore is one of the vehicles under class-action suit because of extremely poor reliability and transmission failures. It's also one of the vehicles GM has chosen to discontinue. There are literally volumes of trouble history with the Jeep. Nice lawn art maybe, but as a usable vehicle: Never. I'd walk away from both of them. | |||||
