| Engine smoking | 21Relevance | 4 years ago | Kuda | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Greetings Scotty. My vehicle is a Iveco daily 35s11, 2.8 liter, year 2000. I had it overhauled after it was blowing blue smoke particularly on start up and also the oil pressure dash light was on. They checked the bearings and noticed that some copper was now showing, however the piston rings where still in shape but we put new ones, we also put new stem seals. Overally the engine was still in good shape as the crankshaft was not damaged at all and the engine block was good as well. So after the engine was assembled back together, it is still blowing blue sm ... | |||||

| ... Q4: Is the car level and are you waiting until the car cold to check the oil? -------- Q5: Are you using Synthetic oil (or) have you recently changed to Synthetic oil? -------- Q6: Do you notice any blue smoke out the exhaust (especially when under acceleration or going up hill)? -------- Q7: Did you recently purchase the vehicle used? Note: If Yes to Q7, sometimes sellers will put Synthetic oil it high mileage cars (or) cars with blown head gaskets because synthetic oil does not burn "blue" exhaust as synthetic oil can appear to have mostly clear / normal ... | |||||
| Answer to: Blue coolant temperature light | 20Relevance | 3 years ago | InThrustWeTrust | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| From a 5 second google search - Two common lights you can see in your HR-V are the high and low temperature indicators. Both look like a thermometer floating in fluid. When it's red, the engine coolant temperature is too high. When it's blue, it means the coolant temperature in your Honda HR-V is low. If the light is blue, let your vehicle idle until the engine warms up and the symbol disappears. | |||||

| There are only so many ways that oil can get into the combustion chamber. It's possible the car wasn't maintained properly, causing excessive wear. Is there any sludge in the engine? Under what conditions do you see blue smoke? At startup? At idle? When accelerating? When decelerating? If your oil level isn't dropping after 1300 miles there's not a huge amount of oil burning going on. (Did you check the oil consumption yourself or did you just take the dealer's word for it?) That would just be a bandaid that would not actually fix anything and might n ... | |||||

| Answer to: Camry blue smoke | 20Relevance | 5 years ago | anndel | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| blue smoke means it's burning oil probably due to the piston rings wearing out. Just change the oil regularly and it should be fine. White smoke means water but most likely due to condensation. Check the oil cap and look in the valve cover for any milkshake just to be sure. Check on the dipstick as well for milkshake which will be the head gasket is blown and coolant is mixing in the oil. If the blue smoke was continuous then it's time to overhaul the engine. | |||||

| @jacksonishere That’s what I was thinking. Bc other then those little issues it is a champ. Runs and sound great. And the blue smoke is only for a few seconds on cold start after it has sat for a day or two. Then after a couple of seconds the blue smoke goes away | |||||
| RE: Rear driver side rear power window | 18Relevance | 5 years ago | jack62 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Just remember, those "Ground" wires are only "Grounded" when the driver's Door Left Rear window switch is at rest . When the driver's Door Left Rear window Master switch is in use, depending upon if it's toggled UP or Down, one of those Ground wires become a Power wire to operate that window from the driver's seat . That's why you can't just "Jumper wire" the Ground from one side of that rear window switch to the other side to fix the problem . You'd blow a fuse every time you tried to operate that window from the driver's door | |||||

But the car wouldn’t drive forward only backwards. Is there a way that he can switch the driver seat without affecting the drivability? He really likes the car but the seats are too small for him. Thanks. | |||||

| Flush it out and use aftermarket asian blue like Zerex. You can probably get it cheaper than Advance, I just posted that link for informational purposes. Watch one of Scotty's videos on flushing your cooling system. | |||||
