Camry blue smoke

Hey Scotty. I have a 2004 Toyota Camry with the 2.4l engine. Sometimes on cold start it blows blue smoke. Then white smoke. Doesn’t burn a lot of oil on dipstick though when I check it. Should I be concerned about the piston rings? It has 153,000 miles. Runs great. I recently drove it about 1800 miles non stop with zero issues. But I can tell the previous owner didn’t keep up the oil changes n stuff all that well. But since I’ve owned it the past 6-7 months I change oil every 3500 miles with high mileage full synthetic mobile 1. N I drive very easy on the car. I rarely hit 3,000 Rpms when accelerating n stuff. Should I be worried about timing chain or anything else? And do you think the piston rings are bad? Or valve stem seals? N do you think the car could still have a lot of life left based on what I’ve described here? Also the oil dipstick seems to smell of gasoline as well. But the oil doesn’t seem to be really discolored. And it’s not real thin either. N the level is never to full? Should I be worried with any of this. Or will the car last another 50-100 thousand miles like most Toyota’s if I just take good care of it n keep up the maintenance

Blue smoke just means your engine is wearing out and to fix it you'd have to rebuild the engine.. but you can still drive it just take care of her and you can still get several years out of the car when it's doing that.

That’s what I was thinking. Bc other then those little issues it is a champ. Runs and sound great. And the blue smoke is only for a few seconds on cold start after it has sat for a day or two. Then after a couple of seconds the blue smoke goes away

Blue smoke means it's burning oil probably due to the piston rings wearing out.  Just change the oil regularly and it should be fine.  White smoke means water but most likely due to condensation.  Check the oil cap and look in the valve cover for any milkshake just to be sure.  Check on the dipstick as well for milkshake which will be the head gasket is blown and coolant is mixing in the oil.  If the blue smoke was continuous then it's time to overhaul the engine.
