| 2003 Buick Park Avenue Died While Driving, PCM Failure found in OBDII | 23Relevance | 5 years ago | nikseroflil | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Car: Buick Park Avenue 2003 (Standard) - 180k Miles - Automatic Hello! I was driving my car to work when all of a sudden my wheel locked up, pressing the gas did nothing, and the car stalled out so I pulled over. I waited a while, tried to start the car again, but when turning the key in the ignition, not even a click happened, but the lights and AC and such would come on. I scanned with my OBDII and the code "1639" appeared and upon research I found the PCM has a failure. Now here's my question: I took out the PCM and looked at the information on the sti ... | |||||

| Hello, car enthusiasts! I have a question about my Buick Century. I've had the rear strut assemblies replaced on my Buick Century 3 times in the past year or so. The originals were starting to squeak so I figured I'd get some new ones. Well, unfortunately, no matter how good the heavier duty sway bar links are, no matter the fact that we put new, good high quality Wheel Hub assemblies on and new drum brakes + hardware (all professionally installed)... it keeps making a bit of a clunking with all the strut assemblies. We got the alignments done, too! An ... | |||||

| If you're even thinking of considering a Buick Encore you're not heeding Scotty's advice! There's a reason the Toyota SUVs sell for more than the Buick. | |||||

| Stay away from the Buick Encore. See video below by Master Mechanic and shop owner The Car Wizard: you do not want to own the Buick Encore long term, esp. out of warranty. | |||||

| Hi I appreciate the answer! Is it worth getting the Buick checked out by a mechanic to see what shape the transmission is? The car seems to be really babied by the owner ( a senior in his 80’s, only owner since new). I should also mention that I am in Canada, so the above is in KMs. So the Buick would be around 80k miles, the Camry 110k miles. Thanks! | |||||

| I don't understand why anyone would buy a Buick. 1. Are they pretty? No 2. Are they reliable? No 3. Are they affordable? No To be honest, Buick vehicles are uglier than Hyundai at any angle. No, I'm not a Hyundai fan. In fact, I think Hyundai is as bad as GM. | |||||

| 1999 Buick Regal: None of those codes are transmission related. What I would do otherwise is check the knock sensors, Camshaft Position Sensors and the Heated Oxygen Sensor for Bank 1 Sensor 2. Check and see if the parts need to be replaced. 2004 Buick Lesabre: P1811 has to do with the Pressure Control Solenoid. I would check and see if that is bad or if the wiring is faulty. | |||||

| Two different Firestone locations and two smaller shops all did 4-wheel alignments. It was mentioned by one on a Buick forum that a steering sensor might be involved (Yay GM!). I'm tempted to report it to the NHTSA and see if Buick intervenes since it's 12 years out of warranty 🙂 | |||||

| I bought a used 05 Buick LeSabre custom with 94k miles and auto transmission and the body is in decent shape just to commute back and forth to work. It was driven mainly by an older lady. I paid $2700.00. Do you think this was a good deal and how many miles do you think I could squeeze out of this Buick if properly maintained? Chad in Kentucky | |||||

| I drive a 2000 Buick LeSabre Limited to and from work about 15 miles a day. My mother originally bought the car new and I inherited it about 14 years ago. It has 125,000 miles on it and gets 23 plus miles per gallon during my suburban to city daily drive during the work week with occasional short errands.Drives better than our 2019 Buick Enclave and 2017 Buick Lacrosse (which my daughter managed to wrangle away) and 2003 GMC Yukon XL Denali. Anyway, from the time my mother bought the car, the "security" light will pop on periodically but has no ill effect o ... | |||||

| So in 2020 I bought my very first new car, a Buick Encore GX. I didn't want a Buick really because nobody in my family EVER bought or had a Buick but of course I was in need of something new. When I drive the car off the lot it was ticking, New cars I thought used to be quiet. Driving from MI to TN often I have 58K miles on it. Friday Jan 6th the check engine light came on and all this crazy stuff started happening. The rear camera came in while I was driving forward which made me think I was driving backwards and almost caused me to get into an accident. T ... | |||||
