EVAP purge pump underspeed

So in 2020 I bought my very first new car, a Buick Encore GX. I didn't want a Buick really because nobody in my family EVER bought or had a Buick but of course I was in need of something new. When I drive the car off the lot it was ticking, New cars I thought used to be quiet. Driving from MI to TN often I have 58K miles on it.

Friday Jan 6th the check engine light came on and all this crazy stuff started happening. The rear camera came in while I was driving forward which made me think I was driving backwards and almost caused me to get into an accident. Then while I was trying to hit the home button 3 images of 3 different screens popped up on the front screen. Then I said let me call for help or disconnected my phone forgot my phone and disconnected me to the Wifi and Bluetooth my phone wasn't plugged in.

I called OnStar to assist because even the MyBuick app wasn't working to start my car, schedule service or find my current location. Took the car in Tuesday to a dealership in Columbia, TN and got the call that I need a EVap PUMP. Sensor code P1467 EVap purge pump underspeed.

Why would a new car need this?? Is it something I can fix? What's a good extended warranty to purchase?

Love your channel, I tell everyone I know about it but never thought I'd be asking a question so soon.

It's a Buick so it's lasted more than I would expect. Get it fixed under warranty and then sell it and buy a good suv like a Rav4 or CR-V. I'm seeing used prices for this car being around $25k.

It's going to be $800 to get that fixed the pump is $400 and the spray to clean out the system is another $400

Have you asked for a second opinion from a trusted independent mechanic? Both as far as the issue and the price. I don't really trust dealership service centers.

How long is the warranty on it? Years? Mileage? Like @fjcruiser2014 said, try to get it fixed under warranty.

Unfortunately, just because a car is new, it doesn’t mean the car is built with quality or longevity in mind.

58323 miles the bumper to bumper warranty is 36000 which they said the past is warrantied under. However it's part of the emissions system but for some reason it's not covered under that.
Select emissions-related components are warranted for 8 years or 80,000 miles, whichever comes first.
Covered components include: catalytic converters, engine control module, transmission control module and other diagnostic-emissions-critical electronic control units

The purge pump is about $100 at GM Parts Center -

Where do they get $400 for this pump?

Well, take the car back from them and find an honest independent mechanic, in your area, who doesn’t intend on ripping you off. Or if you want Scotty himself to take a look at it, he is just a 1.5 hr drive away in Clarksville, TN.

You can set up a repair appointment with Scotty at -
