How do I get rid of the clunk in my Buick Century

Hello, car enthusiasts!  I have a question about my Buick Century.

I've had the rear strut assemblies replaced on my Buick Century 3 times in the past year or so.  The originals were starting to squeak so I figured I'd get some new ones.  Well, unfortunately, no matter how good the heavier duty sway bar links are, no matter the fact that we put new, good high quality Wheel Hub assemblies on and new drum brakes + hardware (all professionally installed)... it keeps making a bit of a clunking with all the strut assemblies.  We got the alignments done, too!  And this sucks.  I want a soft ride that doesn't make noise.  What could be the issue?  And, by the way, the KYBs did this, too.

1) Am I at risk of sudden strut failure?

2) What kind of fix or diagnostics should I be looking for here?

If this is going to require OEM struts and OEM strut mounts and the like, can we re-use the coils from the new strut assemblies?  Also, besides just the strut, strut mount, and coil, what other parts would I need to acquire to actually get that nice OEM soft ride feel?

brakes and hubs don't really cause clunks.

The best way to get rid of that clunk in your Buick Century is to get rid of your Buick Century.

I just replaced the rear struts and mounts, springs, trailing arms on my '99 Chevy Lumina with all OEM parts. I learned a lot about the spring types (e.g., progressive/variable, linear). You can contact AC Delco for the specs on the springs for your car and compare them with KYB spring specs you purchased.
