| 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe idling problem and Check engine light won't go off | 12Relevance | 5 years ago | Aibek | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hi Scotty, Thanks for what you are doing. first-time driver and I learned a lot from you. I bought a 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe with a 2.7L V6 engine about 10 000 miles ago, my first car. Now it has 169 000 miles. About 8 000 miles ago, 2-3 weeks after I changed the oil and did fuel injector cleaning, the Check Engine light turned on with P2187 and P2189 codes (System too lean ai Idle Bank 1 and Bank 2). I checked the gas tank cap (which was ok visually) and erased the code. The same code came back after two or three months of driving. After consulting with a ... | |||||

| ... go with your first car would be the Honda Civic SI. Acura is still a luxury car brand, which means that repairs and maintenance can get expensive over time (generally after 10-15 years or 150k miles). Acuras especially the specific one you are considering are more sporty than other premium cars so they also get ragged out a lot. Here is the tag for Acura, and here is the first car tag. | On the Avenger see below, but I would avoid that vehicle, not a good first car. For first car I recommend a Toyota Corolla or Honda Civic. Also, see our car buying guide: | |||||

| Seems very modern for a first car. Good cars Lexus always made good turbos when it comes to reliability but for a first car most people would recommend a lower end car like a Corolla, but if you can afford that then go ahead. Always remember to have a mechanic check it out before purchase as a pre-purchase inspection. | |||||

| Should I buy a e93 BMW with a "salvage" title as a first car or consider a different car? | 12Relevance | 4 years ago | Yeetas | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Ive been looking around for a relatively reliable, fast, and luxurious vehicle for my first car and after bouncing around a lot of euro cars. Eventually I found a car that seemed to match my criteria. The car is a automatic 2011 BMW e93/335i with a retractable hardtop with 77k miles on it for $11000 from a dealer. This year of the e9x has the n55 engine which is a inline 6 cylinder with a single turbo and Ive seen there's a lot of gasket issues but nothing that seems too difficult to replace to prevent oil leaks. The one major issue I have with the car is th ... | |||||

| Answer to: What car have you guys driven when you had your first car | 9Relevance | 5 years ago | Kaizen | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| 1999 Honda Accord from the beginning. And I still have it 22 years later, now at 270K miles! I put over 200K on it with the first 8-10 years of ownership. And the last 70K in the last 10-12 years. It was super reliable the first 200K. Only started having repairs beyond basic maintenance after 200K miles. In retrospect, I should have driven it more the past 10 years, instead of my other cars. I never appreciated the quality and reliability of Honda, until I had to spend $$$ on repairs and maintenance of a BMW. | |||||

| When should I perform the first oil change in my brand new car? | 9Relevance | 4 years ago | JoeMC23 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hi guys, So I just purchased a brand new 2022 Toyota Corolla LE. When talking to the car dealer he mentioned that I won't need to get an oil change until the car has been driven 16,000km (I am from Canada) and after that then every 8,000km. I am definitely not an expert on cars but I have never heard of waiting 16,000km to get your first oil change? Is this normal or should I get my first one after 8,000km driven? Thanks! | |||||

About a year ago I added an android head unit with a reverse camera, led bulb replacements for high and low beams and reverse lights, also a led bar in the trunk. So far everything worked good. The story of the malfunction starts about a week ago when I decided to drive my car as I do everyday. Started the car with no problems and drove off, after literally driving for a 100-200ft all of the sudden my ... | |||||

| So first of all I'm not Scotty. Second thing is please either create a new topic for a new question and mainly don't put multiple questions in one post. You asked about first car but didn't say it's for a new driver. For a new driver definitely not a big suv or muscle car. A new driver can cause a lot of damage with it. For minivan consider a Sienna; it's better than Odyssey. But definitely do your research on model years to buy/avoid if planning to buy used. | |||||
