| Why is there white smoke from exhaust? | 0Relevance | 5 years ago | Elias_Garcia | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Scotty, I have a 1999 Toyota 4Runner, 180K mikes, automatic transmission with a 3RZ engine. Just today, I noticed the car taking a little longer than usual to fire up and roughly shaking on idle. It usually does this when I turn the car on/off with short periods in between. But, today I noticed white smoke. Could this be related? I also found no trouble codes. Video of white smoke: | |||||
| Answer to: Changing Toyota breaks with ABS | 0Relevance | 5 years ago | geriscan | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Yes, people do it everyday. Without the ABS active, it's just a pre-ABS brake system. See this step-by-step DYI guide from 1AAuto: | |||||

| Transmission cooler | 0Relevance | 5 years ago | Diane | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Scotty, Since I really consider you the Sherlock Holmes of the automotive industry, I told my husband we need to get your advice. We recently purchased a travel trailer, 2,400 Lbs. We’d like to tow it with our 2017 Ford Escape Ecoboost 2.0. Adding a transmission cooler will allow us tow 3500 lbs., according to Ford. Two questions: do you recommend going with the Ford branded transmission cooler, or a possibly higher capacity aftermarket product? Also, what do you think are safe maximum temperatures for the transmission while towing? There seems to be a lot of conflicting information on the Internet. Thanks! Diane | |||||
