| ... seen really nice ones go for a pretty good amount of money. As they get high mileage like yours is, things can break on them being luxury cars but because they sold a lot of them, there is a pretty good aftermarket for them vs other Infinitis. As long as you maintain them, not put too many miles per year, it can still last quite some time. | |||||

| Scotty's not fond of Infiniti quality over the long haul. And he's clearly not fond of JATCO transmissions. There are some variables that your father controls over the potential lifespan of the Infiniti, in general, and with the transmission, more specifically. One lifespan variable is timely CVT fluid changes. If he hasn't done that, yet, it's time. And, yes, while CVT fluid is truly expensive, this twist on Scotty's aphorism is also true: "CVT fluid is relatively cheap. Transmissions are expensive." Scotty's video is below, followed by The Car Wizard' ... | |||||

| Could you find something like these in your area? Would be a lot more reliable than the Infiniti. That vehicle you are talking about is very very similar to the Nissan Maxima from the same era, which happens to be my father's first car. It was OK but fell apart 10 years ago, when it was around 15 years old. I'd really consider a Lexus, Mercury Grand Marquis, Lincoln Town Car, or Buick Park Avenue before I get to the Infiniti. Now if you could get the Infiniti for like 1000 bucks then hey why not its a car and if it runs and drives fine ... | |||||
| Can't find power steering leak, HELP | 25Relevance | 3 years ago | Jessicahunt906 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| 2004 Infiniti g35 bad sedan, 250k miles, bought from private party. Had a bad power steering fluid leak that turned out (so we thought) to be a result of a broken clip on the power steering pressure control switch. We just replaced it and the fluid isn't leaking near as badly, but it's still leaking somewhat and bad enough to leak and make the car smoke uncontrollably. Seems to only smoke badly though when we leave the car running idle or get stuck at a light or in traffic. I'm out of money and out of ideas! Before it was leaking heavily into the alternato ... | |||||

| ... in the near future, mostly for my parents though I also intend on driving it and I pick Toyota/Lexus products because overall, they're just not as expensive to maintain. I do maintenance that a diyer can do. (thanks to you scotty! 🙂 )BUT I don't want to deal with timing belts. The drawback with Toyota/Lexus is their V6 FWD cars can be boring to drive. The Infiniti FX35 is priced a bit cheaper than the 2007-2009 RX350 down here in Southern California, and is RWD. It may be the fun car I'm looking for me personally as well. I know it has the same g35 engin ... | |||||

| I have a 2006 Infiniti g35 coupe A/T, replaced both cats w aftermarket and all 4 denso sensors (A/F and o2) soon after I got a p2a00 code ( all sensors worked prior to changing cats (had p0430) so I changed both, I smoked the intake and exhaust, no leaks, car runs really good just poor gas mileage I did A/F reset (MAF unplug/plug) and haven’t had code since (700 miles ago) BUT B1S1 still reads low .285-.30v whether on the gas or idling, from previous .19-.23v apparently the reset put it within specs, but it does not fluctuate other than .28 and .30 unless I ... | |||||
