According to posts in forum and Scotty's videos Lexus is the most reliable, but will also cost a fortune when it starts breaking down. What about a Toyota Sequoia, Highlander or Land Cruiser?

Out of those three definitely the Lexus.

I have been thinking of getting one of these because I am planning on using it for Uber, out of the 3 Gls seems to have better mpg but I am not sure about the reliability

How long do you plan to keep it? After 5 6 years or 70 80k miles theMercedes will start falling apart, and before then empty your wallet with maintenance costs.
If you want a reliable car, get the Lexus. Long term, the Lexus would have a bit higher repair/maintenance costs because its a V8 but the  Mercedes would just bankrupt you.

Infinitis are OK definitely in between the Merc and Lexus but these are all high tech luxury SUVs and will become money pits eventually, for example the Mercedes after 6 7 years, Infiniti after 8 9 years, and the Lexus after 15 years (as an example).

Owners on this forum say that their BMW and Mercedes SUVs "cost an arm and leg to maintain" and are a "serious moneypit" while Lexus V8 owners say that though maintenance costs were a bit high, "it was an ultimate road machine"

For reliability you are better off with the Lexus. If you want to do more research, go through the search box and type Mercedes Lexus Infiniti etc.

Go with the Lexus GX460, esp. if you plan to keep it for a long time and out of warranty.  Of the 3, it is also less likely to make extra trips to the dealer during the warranty period.

@sardor Out of those 3, definitely the Lexus. However, you're saying you'll be using this vehicle for Uber. Are you sure it's wise to invest so much money into a vehicle being used for Uber? Wouldn't you risk just being in a fight to break even with the vehicle after investing thousands of miles & wear and tear on it? I would look into the cheapest yet somewhat reliable option for Uber that I could get that meets Uber's requirements. You need to think about more than just MPG & try to calculate estimated repair costs for the vehicle over time. I'm not a huge fan of Uber, and it's mainly because they try to shaft their "employees" every chance they get. Honestly I don't think they pay you very much for your time & even less for the wear and tear on your car. Who knows though, you might have more insider information on Uber than I do, & I would love to hear what you think!

I appreciate your opinions, I will definitely think about the Lexus, the reason I want these cars is because of Uber Black, which requires upscale vehicles. I also know a person with a 2010 GL who never had to pay for any serious repairs and their car is still running strong, I guess they dont make em' like they used to.

Lexus and Infiniti for sure, but I would avoid the merc.
