| Answer to: Disabling Honda ECO | 18Relevance | 5 years ago | rcChris | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Thanks guys for the input! Leaning toward doing it -- my only concern is that the device keeps Eco off by nudging the coolant temperature lower than actual from the sensor. I really have to trust that the microcontroller is well-designed and will bypass itself if the coolant is getting too hot and won't fail itself. I'll see if I can find a local Honda independent master mechanic for another opinion as well. | |||||

| I'm considering getting the ScanTool OBDLink SX USB: Professional Grade OBD-II Automotive Scan Tool for Windows. What is your take on using a laptop versus a handheld or bluetooth interface? I would imagine that a laptop running an i5 or faster CPU would give good performance but then it's Windows. I'd rather use a device that's compatible with Linux though. | |||||
| Answer to: 2013 Sonota ECO mode majic? | 16Relevance | 5 years ago | Chuck Tobias | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| It really needs to be scanned for codes with a high-level scan tool to get an idea what's going on. (A simple OBD2 scanner won't do the trick.) The engine having to be replaced at 100K tells you what kind of "kwality" you're dealing with. | |||||

| Don't OBDLink's software sucks, and you have to pay more money for the extras. It's much more of a hassle to have to go home, drag the laptop into the car, plug it in, and boot it up every time you need to do diagnostics. You already have a smart phone, and you can throw a dongle in the storage compartment so you can use it any time the need strikes (check engine light comes on at work? broken down on the side of the road?) It's also easier to record data while you drive. And get something that is a complete package: hardware + software. Well Supported software that is well fleshed out, and actively being developed. Check out Bluedriver. | |||||
| Did slipped timing chain damage my engine | 16Relevance | 2 years ago | Harrisjustin | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I just had my cam phasers and timing chain replaced in a 2012 3.5 Eco-boost. With 150,000 miles. I still have a leg at 2500 RPM when I am accelerating it drops down to 2000 RPM but then continues to accelerate just fine. My timing chain slipped three links according to the Ford dealership. Is my 3.5 Eco-boost damaged permanently from this timing chain mishap? | |||||
