| Hello Everyone, I posted a few months back in regards to seeing if getting a companion SN95/ new Edge era Cobra/Mach 1 would be a good buy to go along with daily driver. She is a 40th anniversary 3.9 V6 2004 mustang with 107K miles. Previously I got a wonderful response from a Ford master mechanic on this forum, advising me to keep it and take care of it which I have, and continue to do so. Now I am looking for some advice on the do`s and don'ts when it coms to restoring a salvage title mustang from that same era. My reasoning: I avoid the overpriced car ma ... | |||||
| Answer to: Scotty - thoughts on Ford Edge(s)? | 15Relevance | 4 years ago | Whatchamacallit | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Is the Edge reliable? Supposedly the 2014 was one of the best years but are any of them particularly "lemons" in your experience? Not really. That naturally aspirated v6 engine alone (with water pump internal to the engine and driven by timing chain) is a dealbreaker. Even to replace the water pump (assuming it has not already damaged the engine - worst case) is a partial engine out operation, which will get very expensive. There was also a class action lawsuit against Ford for this: | |||||
| 2019 Ford Edge shudder under acceleration | 15Relevance | 4 years ago | tennturbo | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hey Scotty. Just recently discovered your YouTube channel and I’ve been watching a bunch of videos. I have a 2019 Ford Edge Titanium with around 94k miles. For the last 5k miles or so under normal acceleration the car judders after it gets out of the first couple gears usually from 20 mph and sometimes it’s pretty consistent and then sometimes it’s hardly noticeable. I took it to a local place here in White Bluff TN and they replaced the spark plugs but nothing changed and they said they found a recall from Ford with that scenario and they don’t have the pro ... | |||||

| 2013 Ford Edge unidentified noise | 15Relevance | 5 years ago | GreenPlantlady76 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I have taken my ford Edge in a total of 3 times now to see what is making noise when I break and after awhile it starts making a noise while driving at lower speeds. Every time I take it in nobody can hear the noise. Which I find crazy since even my kids can hear the noise. I have been assured nothing is wrong. I don't believe them. I feel like it's the brakes. Yesterday I put my phone on the floor in the back and recorded while I was driving and was able to record the noise. Should I have new breaks put on? Could it be bearings going bad? About ready to s ... | |||||

| Ford Edge 2012 SEL Spongy Brake & Stalling | 15Relevance | 5 years ago | Nick1052 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Good evening! I recently bought a used Ford Edge 2012 SEL with a V6 engine. The car rides really nice. However, at times there are a few issues. I’ll list them below. 1. The brake gets spongy after pressing it down the first time. It then takes time before it returns to normal 2.Sometimes driving above 40mph or 60mph takes time, as if the vehicle stalls. I suspect it’s also because to brake gets spongy and perhaps it’s stopping it from accelerating??? 3. The steering wheel is a bit hard but I’m not too concerned about this one. 4 the FordMyKey is a ... | |||||

It sounds very similar to a Geiger counter 😂. Only consistently occurs at highway speeds. Air gap somewhere? We have no idea what it could be. See attached link for sound video. | |||||
