| 2007 honda accord 2.4l 4 cylinder vp So I had a code for p0420 and we used a cheap version of a cataclean and after coming back from basically a 300 mile trip the check engine light came back on one for the same code but also p0137 and idk how to properly diagnose this problem cause indont have money to buy a new cat and I don't know the proper scenarios for this issue | |||||

| I have a 2006 Murano with 142k (which my daughter uses at college). The service engine soon comes on once a month or so, I used my xtool D9 and got a p0420 code and reset it and it runs fine. It doesn't overheat or anything, can I use a catalytic cleaner on it or is there another cause for the code? Or should I just leave well enough alone and keep resetting occasionally?good work | |||||

| I have checked the links you sent me and All has been done. Cat, 2 sensors and 6 spark plugs and still the p0420 code comes back. At this point maybe I should go to Nevada to the despensory and buy my car some 420 and send the smoke into the system, I don;t know of any other way. From what I read the major issue would be not passing a smog test. Fortunately where I live does not require smog. My Volvo days are numbered. As previously stated this is the first and last Volvo. in 2010 the company was owned by Ford and now China so I am looking for a replacement ... | |||||

| Just because there is a code for p0420 it doesn't mean the cat is bad. There are over dozen different things that can throw this code and proper diagnosis is the only way to know for sure. Even if your cat is bad and you replace it, you still have to find out what caused it to go bad in the first place if there is one.. If you don't find the underlying cause it could bad again. For future reference remember, just because there is a code it doesn't mean that part or sensor is bad. You should diagnose it first to confirm that component is indeed faulty. | |||||

| Catalytic converters are designed for the lifetime of the Jeep. Something with the engine is throwing things off. It could be anything from a simple vacuum leak, to oxygen sensors to exhaust manifold leaks. You need to interpret this with Live Data. | |||||

| Hi, I’m writing because I was driving on Thanksgiving day 2023, and all of a sudden, my Check Engine lights comes on. I went to Autozone for a Code Reading; the Code is p0420. | If you remove the catalytic converters of course you're going to see codes p0420 and P0430. There are many things that can cause lack of power. Have you checked live data for problems? | |||||

| I drive a honda accord 2000 SE with 186,400 miles on it. The transmission started showing some problems since the last few months and has been getting worse. The gear shifts with a jerk. When i stop the car, the comes to neutral with a jerk. When i start it starts with a jerk. Otherwise at higher speeds it is smooth. I get the confirmed error codes as P1739, P1738,P0420, P1259. I bought a camry and want to sell this car. However the dealers are lowballing me sighting these problems ($500 trade in). I am thinking whether it makes sense to go for a repair for these as without any of the problems i could easily net $ 1500-2000 more in private market vs trade in. Appreciate your opinion | |||||

| 2007 PT Cruiser Touring Check engine light came on and the code was p0420. After that code came on the car started losing power. When I would accelerate the RPM's would go high and I was going nowhere hardly. I would have to let off the gas a little for it to go into gear.
