2007 PT Cruiser Touring

Check engine light came on and the code was P0420.  After that code came on the car started losing power.  When I would accelerate the RPM's would go high and I was going nowhere hardly.  I would have to let off the gas a little for it to go into gear.  I need help don't know what to do or what could be wrong with it.  I am a single mother and do not have a lot of money.  I watched some youtube vids about the code and used DuraLube Catalytic cleaner and it has not gotten any better.  No leaks are coming from under the car.  It only has 169,000 miles on it.  My only vehicle.  Any suggestions on what it could be or what to do?  Thanks! {black}:excitement:

Well, the code means catalytic converter is working inefficiently. There are literally dozen of things that can trip that code, but if the catalytic converter itself is all clogged up, the engine will run like crap. So you might have the catalytic converter pressure tested first. But if it's not that there are dozens of things that can do that
