Thank you very much, it is most appreciated. It will also probably be helpful with understanding electronics in general for my knowledge while I am studying for the HAM Radio license.
As a bonus, the other book mentioned in that video was also by Tracy Martin: “How to Diagnose and Repair Automotive Electrical Systems”.
The Circuit Tester tool he used was a GODIAG GT101.
See links for both below:
If you want to learn basic electronics here is the bible:
https://www.arrl.org/shop/ARRL-Handbook-2022-Softcover/
It is an excellent reference book. You can buy them used on Ebay. The ARRL come out with a new addition every year but the old ones are just as good they just don't have the latest stuff. I like the book because it shows practical construction and repair practices like what a good solder joint looks like , how to properly attach connectors and how to use a multi-meter without blowing stuff up. It is geared toward ham radio operators but it has all the basics of electronics written in layman's terms.
As far as scan tools are concerned if you want a all encompassing scan tool you are going to spend thousands of dollars. There are simple tools that do 90% of whats needed for a couple of hundred bucks. Scotti has a bunch of videos on ones he has critiqued.

Hello everyone, Scotty made a video where he talked about a book for everyone to read and learn electrical diagnostics in cars. Anyone know what that video is or what the book is? It was a recent video I believe
Having trouble remembering author of car theory book and the model of the
