How to improve a badly worn and slipping automatic transmission?

A badly worn and slipping automatic transmission was never changed its transmission fluid.  If I do a transmission flush with 2/3 of transmission fluid mixed with 1/3 of 75W-90 gear oil(or Lucas Trans Fix) on it, will that improve the performance of the transmission?  Or the transmission still slip?

This is a study in futility.  The transmission is shot.  Get a rebuilt unit from TCI, Monster Trans or Gearstar and solve the problem.

The flush does not do any good. Drain a quarter of the ATF and add Lucas anti slip and pray it works.

I know flush only the with transmission fluid would not help on a badly slip transmission. But what if I mix the transmission fluid with 30% or 50% of Lucas trans fix(or gear oil), and flush the transmission? (I am not talking about a bottle of TransFix). Will that help?

I not sure what the outcome would be.

*and when using additives or non-hem fluid - forget of any chance that it may ever get rebuilt after that (from what I've been seeing)

I have no idea how the mix atf/gear oil will work. But an old trick for worn autos is replacing the dexron/mercon style atf oil with the Ford Type F/G atf oil. The Type F/G does not contain as much anti-friction additive as a dexron/mercon style oil. I have no personal experience in doing this, but I have heard this from an experienced transmission guy.

Maybe I should ask Mythbusters to try our ideas. That will make a great show.

Good idea!
