Anyone out there having the same issue? My 01’ Yota 4R SR5 (250k miles) automatic has acquired a massive shake while driving between 20-30 mph. I’ve replaced the spark plugs and wires. Also is having issues overheating. Removed the thermostat for now, until I have time and funds to diagnose as well. Please advise on how to proceed. -TY!

  • First off I'm not sure if anyone out here has a Yota
  • And can you be more specific what do you mean when you say a massive shake

Just realized you probably meant Toyota 4runner

you need to get with the hip Yota crowd speak 😛
Say it with me .... "Yota Rolla"
My friend LS swapped a Hilux. Put a "Toylet" badge on it.

{pear}
All jokes aside is yota a real thing

With any modern vehicle ("modern" meaning equipped with OBD2) a good place to start diagnosis is checking codes and live data.

check for failed head gasket. Scotty has a few videos about how to do it.

Did the shaking and overheating start at the same time?
