Should I buy this Camaro

Scotty, I'm looking at buying an 2002 Camaro SS Z28 with 31k miles, no leaking from T-tops, smooth idle, starts right up & no trouble codes (without a scan tool and didn't test drive yet). Is this a good find and should I go for it?

At 22 years old it could be a fun weekend toy but I'd think twice about using it as a daily driver unless you're real handy with tools and have a backup vehicle.

The low mileage is suspect and needs to be verified. Even if true, parts will be deteriorating with age. You need to have a good mechanic give the car a thorough inspection before purchase.

I do plan to use it as a daily but as a replacement for a 2012 VW CC that is in worse shape. But as an 18 year old kid, I don't drive all that far. Nevertheless I will definitely get it checked out before I cop it.

Be very careful buying a sports car like that, because they are known for having owners that drive them very, very hard.

Those, mustangs, challengers, etc, you see people racing and doing donuts while floored.

I would want to know the former owner, and know that they didn't dog it out like that, before I bought it.

Given it's a top-of-the-line car, it most likely saw relatively low mileage because he drove it very little, and, when he did, he most likely drove the heck out of it. My step dad has a 2020 Mustang GT California Special that lives in the garage; it doesn't come out when it rains. He drives the heck out of that car. Unless he never drove it because he's old or something like that, it was likely driven very hard.
