03 Silverado HD - Electrical Glitches

I recently purchased a 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500 HD from a friend of mine. It has 256,000 miles, is mechanically in great shape (and beautiful) as he has had a small repair shop for years and this was his truck. He also has a ‘99 Silverado 2500 that he purchased brand new so he keeps he vehicles in top shape. We just started having a problem where the truck wouldn’t crank after lots of stop/starts & traffic driving. (Like waiting in line to get gas @ Sam’s Club, then after getting gas doesn’t crank for about 45 mins.) The 2nd time it happened I went to AutoZone & they said battery was bad so I put another Optima battery in it. Few days later it happened again….it really acted like a starter solenoid. Eventually got it back to my friend who put a new starter in it and while keeping for a few day to check it out, it did it to him a few times. He put a new neutral starter switch in & that didn’t help. We ended up getting a remanufactured ECM flashed with updated codes for my vin. That solved it! BUT, I bought a newer keyless remote that guarantees to pair with these trucks…..and it wont pair. Went to a locksmith and he could get it to pair amd noticed that my gauges do not power up with the key on…..only after the engine is started. He says it’s not going into pairing mode correctly. I now have learned that these NBS Silverado’s have a history of electrical issues. My gauge lights are starting to fail but I figured it was time to have the bulbs replaced. I’d really like to get the quirks fixed but not sure what to look for. Could it be the BCM? Do you have any ideas Scotty? Thanks

Well that's classic sign of the ignition switch. The electrical part is broken. It's not stunning the power correctly unless you got it running. So I'd say the switch assemblies where the electrical short is
