Good evening. I’m going to try and keep this short and simple. I’m the very proud owner of a 2004 4Runner Limited V8 with 186k on the dash. The cabin produces a very loud and shrill alarm upon ignition turnover…then the brakes became impossible to depress. All became quiet and brakes came back. Then it happened all over a few days later. It’s currently getting an estimate for fixing and when it’s all said and done for the ABS module replacement it’s gonna be right around 5k that’s also including some other stuff. Are there any other “big maintenance” lurking besides the timing belt? I love this truck and V8 but darn….

4Runners in that generation are notorious for exhaust manifold crack and frame rust.
