i have 07 jeep wrangler 200k kms and today i started it up and the gauge cluster is showing that im in d n r p even when i put it in gear it still shows that, took it to a mechanic and it still shows im in d n r p but when i rev it up it will go away and back on again when not revving up
what could be the problem we don't have a scan tool
The problem is those are really complex electronics in that system is breaking down it's not like the old days where everything was operated by a cable and you could adjust it. For my experience on those Jeeps either the wiring is going bad or that dash unit is going bad and it's something that bizarre you would really need a dealer scan tool to even figure it out without gas but you could check for loose connections and corroded wiring
