Hello everyone i have a 2007 toyota solara sle v6 im trying to put the passenger side im trying to put the axle into the transmission but there is a little gap between the collar and the transmission. Some videos people put the axle nut on the wheel hub side and hammer and other videos i see people easily slide it in by hand, any tips? Am i doing anything wrong? Also in all the videos there is no friction clip on the tranny end it just went in and the guys put everything back together after. Thanks in advance!
Well all the ones I ever did have the slip ring on that snaps them in place. I would assume yours either fell off if you reusing the axle or if you bought a new one it didn't come with a clip. Something has to hold them in and it's the clip

When I did mine, I applied little bit of atf on the splines. Don't use anything else but atf.
