Had a camshaft and crank sensor code day 1, day 2changed crank and camshaft sensors, there was ticking coming from timing and valve covers, the next day no compression car crankshaft just spinning the belt like there no chain and no spark. Ordered a timing set, made sure timing marks were aligned changed guides, tensioner, water pump, made sure everything was lined up and torqued to spec, this isn’t my first timing job on a 2.7, reconnected everything, torqued to spec. Could the valves be bent? What can I try before taking of the heads and replacing the valves?

I’ve heard quite a bit of horror stories about the Chrysler 2.7 unfortunately. If it’s making those noises and you believe it’s valve/lifter tick, it might be time to upgrade to a different vehicle. If you’re willing to put in the work, replace all that you listed and see how it does. Another thing you can try to do is add a friction reducer/modifier to the engine oil and see if there’s a possibility that it could just be tick due to increased friction on the lifters/valves. If the noise goes away, use a friction modifier every oil change and that might help you out a bit.
